You can delete your BonkGuard account either directly in the app or by emailing support@bonkguard.com. The in-app option is the fastest method.
How to request deletion
- In the BonkGuard app, go to Settings > Delete Account and tap the red Delete Account button at the bottom of the screen.
- When you use the in-app Delete Account button, your account and all user data are deleted from our system, are not retained by us, and cannot be recovered.
- If you cannot access the app, email support@bonkguard.com with the subject line Account Deletion Request.
- Include the email address associated with your BonkGuard account.
- We may reply to verify account ownership before deleting the account.
- After verification, we will process the deletion request and confirm when it is complete.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, BonkGuard deletes the data we control for your account, including:
- Account profile information, such as your email address
- Saved fueling plans and plan history stored with your account
- Saved fuel library items and related app content you created
- App preferences and settings tied to your account
- Support-submitted account content associated directly with the deleted account, where deletion is technically and legally permitted
What may be retained
If you use the in-app Settings > Delete Account button, your account and user data are deleted from our system, are not retained by us, and cannot be recovered.
If you request deletion by email instead, some limited information may be retained only as needed to complete and document the request:
- Deletion request records: We may retain a minimal record of the deletion request, the account email address, and the completion date for up to 30 days to document compliance and prevent fraudulent requests.
- Backups and security logs: Residual copies in secure backups or logs may remain for up to 30 days before they are automatically overwritten or deleted.
- Billing and transaction records: Purchase and subscription records may be retained by Apple, Google Play, Stripe, RevenueCat, or other payment providers under their own retention policies. BonkGuard does not store full payment card details.
- Legal compliance: If we are required to keep specific records to comply with law, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, we may retain only the minimum information necessary for as long as required.
Important note about subscriptions
Deleting your BonkGuard account does not automatically cancel an app store subscription. Active subscriptions must be canceled through the store where you purchased them.
